What is Whatsapp Payments?

Whatsapp Payments is a feature of Whatsapp through which bank-to-bank money transfers can be made and received. This facility is based on UPI (Unified Payment Interface). This service has been started in India in December 2020. You can know about it in the video below.

How to use Whatsapp Payment?

Follow the instructions below to use Whatsapp Payments.

1. update whatsapp

To update Whatsapp:

Open Google Play Store in Android Mobile.

Whatsapp Search.

Click on Update button at the bottom of WhatsApp.

Wait for WhatsApp to update.

2. add bank

To add a bank:

Open Whatsapp in your mobile.

Tap on the three dotted lines of option.

After this go to Settings> Payments> Add Bank Account.

Read and accept the WhatsApp Payment Terms and Policy and click on Continue.

Find the bank you want to link with Whatsapp.

Select the bank and submit all the necessary information related to the bank correctly.

After that you will be sent an OTP on your registered mobile which you have to submit.

After verifying the OTP, tap on Allow.

If you have added more than one bank, select the bank you want to keep as primary. Primary means choosing the bank from which you want to transact money.

3. Transfer payment via Whatsapp Payments

To transfer payment:

Click on Options.

Go to Payments and tap on Make Payment.

Scan the QR code or select the UPI ID.

If you are paying by scanning the QR code, select QR in the option on the right side of the profile.

If you want to make payment with UPI ID, then enter UPI ID.

After doing this, verify the name of the person to whom the money is being transferred.

Then transferred the money.

4. Receive payments with Whatsapp Payments

To receive payments via Whatsapp Payments:

Go to Options.

Click on Payments.

Tap on the QR Code icon.

Scan from sender's mobile.

If you want to receive payment through UPI ID, enter the UPI ID in the mobile of the payer.

Then confirm your name and get paid.

Things to keep in mind before using Whatsapp Payments are as follows:

Before doing any transaction, you need to verify the last 6 digits and expiry date of your Debit Card.

Please read and accept the Payment Terms and Privacy Policy carefully before linking the bank to Whatsapp Payments.

Make sure that both your bank account and debit card are from India (if you live in India).

If you have not added any bank to Whatsapp Payments, then you cannot take advantage of its service.

Make sure that the mobile number registered with your bank is also registered on Whatsapp. If it doesn't, the UPI associated with your bank will not be able to be verified by Whatsapp Payments.

Before using Whatsapp Payments, make sure your version of Whatsapp is updated. If you haven't updated to the latest version, update it.
